Buddy-2-Buddy Unisex Program

Buddy-2-Buddy is a program designed to bring LGBT elders the care, companionship, and community that they need by pairing them together in relationships of mutual respect and support. Buddies are matched based on their interests and needs, and are free to develop their friendships in any way they choose.

GRIOT volunteers focus their attention on members who are either homebound or in hospitals or nursing homes, and provide them with support, advocacy, escort assistance and social visits. This program decreases isolation, enhances social and educational opportunities, provides consistent support, disseminates information and increases communication among elders in the LGBT community of color.
